Emmerdale’s Fiona Wade on real romances in the dales

Emmerdale actress Fiona Wade has told a tabloid she’s been intimate with “several of her co-stars”.

The 34-year-old plays Priya Sharma, who arrived in the Dales in 2011.

Wade told The Sun that she’d had a romance with a fellow theatre actor before enjoying a fling with someone from the Emmerdale cast when she joined the ITV soap which is produced in Leeds.

“It’s all about work and meeting people at work really. They are the ones I date… I’m wary of going out with random men I meet because they either treat you as a trophy or they already have an opinion of what you’re like.

“I have dated co-stars, because you do — that’s how you meet people, you work with them 24/7. I went out with a guy I worked with in the theatre for a while. Then I dated an actor in the Emmerdale cast after I joined the show.

“We were both single at the time and got on really well, but it didn’t work out. Everything is fine now though, we are still friends.”

She noted that she hasn’t ruled out future romances with co-stars, although she won’t reveal the name of her former partners and added that she prefers co-workers as they don’t expect her to be like the character she plays on screen.

“Careful Fiona dear,” our telly critic Queenie says, adding, “you’ll end up beating Roxanne Pallett for the number of saucy stories in the tabloids at this rate.”

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV.
