My Secret Past returns to Channel 5

For this third series, Louis Smith MBE, Kerry Katona and Jennifer Ellison will delve into their pasts and reflect on the secrets and suffering that has affected them personally.

The series – which is a co-production by Dragonfly and GroupM Entertainment – will explore a range of subjects from behavioural disorders to mental health and post-natal depression. Authored by the celebrity contributors themselves, we’ll hear first-hand how these personal issues have affected their lives, then and now, and speak to the people who witnessed their stories.

We’ll also speak to experts in each field and meet people in Britain going through the same issues today.

Louis Smith – ADHD: My Secret Past Olympic gymnast and Strictly Come Dancing star, Louis Smith MBE, was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) when he was 6 years old. In ADHD: My Secret Past, Louis goes on a personal journey to find out more about his condition and reveals how the discipline of gymnastics and the target of Olympics glory helped him to control it. He’ll meet fellow sufferers and find out if the ADHD behaviours that he’s suppressed for so long will come back to haunt him.

Kerry Katona – Mental Health: My Secret Past Reality star and Atomic Kitten, Kerry Katona is famous for her public outbursts but why is she the way she is? In this personal journey, Kerry faces her mental health issues, retracing her troubled childhood to finally find some answers. What triggered her mental health problems and can she keep them under control in the future?

Jennifer Ellison – Post-Natal Depression: My Secret Past Jennifer Ellison is best known as a reality TV star and actress of the stage and screen. But behind the smiles, Jennifer kept a big secret: after the birth of her first son she suffered from Postnatal Depression and cried her way through what should have been one of the happiest times of her life. In Post-Natal Depression: My Secret Past, Jennifer goes on a mission to find out everything she can about a condition that affects many new mums, determined not to suffer in silence as she prepares to welcome baby number two.
