Filming begins for ITV 1’s ‘Scott and Bailey’

Filming has begun on the new ITV 1 crime drama Scott and Bailey which sees Suranne Jones and Lesley Sharp take lead roles.It was announced in August that Scott and Bailey had been commissioned to screen in 2011. Written and co-created by Sally Wainwright the six part series looks at the personal and professional lives of DC Janet Scott (Lesley Sharp) and DC Rachel Bailey (Suranne Jones) as they hunt down and investigate killers and their motives for murder.

They are members of Syndicate 9, a division of Manchester Metropolitan Police, which will also star Nicholas Gleaves as DS Andy Roper, Tony Mooney as DC Pete Readyough, Ben Batt as DC Kevin Lumb, David Prosho as DC Ian Mitchell and Delroy Brown as DC Lee Broadhurst.

Diane Taylor, a retired Detective within the Greater Manchester Police Force has helped Sally Wainwright to shape the series, giving her own insight into the life of a murder squad member.
