Corrie’s Rita to be attacked by yobs

Rita & Alan Bradley, Blackpool 1989Coronation Street’s Rita Tanner doesn’t have much luck, she’s been almost smothered to death by deranged Alan Bradley (pictured), nearly killed by a falling tram and now is set to be attacked by a group of teenagers.

Newsagent Rita will be attacked by a gang of youths The Sun reports while wandering through a Weatherfield park.

Pictures taken by a pap for the newspaper show the character having her handbag stolen, then being shoved to the ground by three thugs – two male and a female.

Corrie veteran Barbara Knox, 79, was spotted filming the action-packed scenes today alongside a body double wearing the same purple mac and wig. – The Sun.

In the late 1980s Rita – 79-year-old actress Barbara Knox – was at the centre of a major storyline which saw her involved with conman Alan Bradley – actor Mark Eden – who when confronted with several of his dirty deeds almost killed Rita with her own sofa cushion, thankfully he failed to suffocate her when he was interrupted.

In 2010 while attempting a late night nibble with a box of chocolates the infamous tram crash left Rita unconscious on the Newsagents shop floor from the impact of the vehicle crashing off the viaduct into her shop.
