Corrie forced to re-write plots
The early exit of Kym March, to go on maternity leave, has reportedly left Coronation Street bosses forced to do last minute re-writes.
The Sun reports that that Kym Marsh’ character Michelle Connor was due to have a steamy affair with new arrival Frank Foster (The Bill’s Andrew Lancel).
However, because the actress has been granted early maternity leave the soap has now had to re-write the storyline at the last minute.
The tabloid newspaper notes that while the storyline will still go ahead it won’t be Michelle who has an affair with Frank but widow Maria (Samia Smith) instead.
The changes in the plot mean that Maria will leave Audrey’s Salon to work for Carla (Alison King) even though the two women do not get along – especially as Carla was having an affair with Maria’s husband Liam (Rob James-Collier) in the run up to his death at the hands of Tony Gordon (Gray O’Brien).
The plot will reportedly unfold in March with Michelle Connor being written out of the soap by visiting family in Ireland.
