Larry Hagman signs up for Dallas reboot

Larry HagmanLegendary actor Larry Hagman has signed up for TNT’s reboot of Dallas meaning he’ll appear alongside his former co-stars Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy in the pilot for the new series.

Larry HagmanAfter weeks of talks it has finally been confirmed that Larry Hagman has signed up for TNT’s Dallas reboot. The actor will reprise his role of the scheming and devious JR Ewing for the pilot which will concentrate on the ‘next generation’ of the Ewing family. While former co-stars Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy had already signed up for the reboot Hagman was reportedly holding out for more money. This meant producers reportedly ordered a new version of the script which only featured JR in flashbacks – using material from the original series.

However, Dallas without JR is just unimaginable and talks with the actor continued and now it looks set that JR Ewing will be in the pilot alongside his brother Bobby (Patrick Duffy) and ex-wife Sue Ellen (Linda Gray). It’s unknown whether any other characters from the original series of Dallas will be invited back such as ‘poison dwarf’ Lucy Ewing (Charlene Tilton). As revealed earlier this week Jordana Brewster has signed up for the pilot playing the daughter of the ranch cook who catches the eye of JR’s son John Ross and Bobby’s son Christopher. The two cousins are set to be locked in a bitter battle over Ewing Oil and the affections of Brewster’s character.
