Garin Wolf named new head writer of General Hospital
ABC has announced that Garin Wolf is to be the new head writer on its medical soap General Hospital.
Wolf is to replace current head-writer Robert Guza Jr even though just months ago ABC denied rumours he was to be replaced. Wolf has been part of the writing staff on General Hospital since 1997 and will take on head-writing responsibilities on General Hospital immediately.
“Garin is a talented writer and storyteller who has been a part of the General Hospital family for nearly 15 years. His in-depth knowledge and adoration for the show’s legacy will help make a smooth transition and an immediate impact on story,” “I’m sure he will succeed in taking General Hospital to new heights as he develops characters and storylines that will engage and thrill our viewers.” – Statement by Brian Frons, Daytime President for ABC
Wolf’s work on General Hospital over the years has been in many forms from associate head writer to script writer. He also worked on the short-lived prime-time spin-off General Hospital: Night Shift and has received two Daytime Emmys for his work. Guza’s work on General Hospital stretches back far and has had several stints as head-writer originally starting in 1995 before exiting shortly after in 1996. His most recent stint as head-writer began in 2002 when he shared the role with Charles Pratt Jr and continued on his own when Pratt left in 2003.
