Crystal Chappell to leave Days of our Lives

Actress Crystal Chappell has confirmed she is leave NBC soap Days of our Lives.

The actress confirmed, via Twitter, that she was being written out of the daily saga. Chappell plays fan favourite Carly Manning reprising the role in 2009. The actress also confirmed the decision to write her out of Days of our Lives was not taken by the soap’s new writers. Recently head writer Dena Higley was dismissed from her position but according to Chappell the decision to write out her character happened before that.

Chappell made her Days of our Lives debut in 1990 exiting in 1993. Following her exit she joined the cast of ABC soap One Life to Live as Maggie Carpenter for two years. The actress then had a ten-year stint on the CBS soap Guiding Light as Olivia Spencer during which time she picked up a Dayime Emmy award for her role.
