TNT orders full series of Dallas

DallasTNT has ordered a full series of its Dallas reboot.

The broadcaster has announced it has ordered a series based on the pilot episode produced. The new Dallas is a continuation of the hugely popular 1980s super-soap and not a remake. It features several actors from the original series reprising their roles such as Larry Hagman as the scheming J.R Ewing and Linda Gray as his ex-wife Sue Ellen. New cast members include several Desperate Housewives alums such as Brenda Strong, Jesse Metcalfe and Josh Henderson.

However, fans of Dallas will have a little while to wait before the Oil-based drama returns to screens. TV Line reports TNT are lining it up for next Summer but the time will fly by and it won’t be long before J.R is scheming to get even richer and probably at his family’s expense once more! The original series of Dallas ran from 1978 to 1991 spawning spin-off Knots Landing, which ran until 1993, and several television movies in the 1990s that reunited the cast. The most famous storyline of all – and perhaps the most famous cliff-hanger in the world – was Who Shot J.R?. Millions of people around the World tuned in to find out which member of the Ewing family or assiociates tried to do away with the scheming businessman.
