Prospect Park issues statement on future of All My Children

All My Children{jcomments on}The company that has signed a deal with ABC to keep soaps All My Children and One Life to Live going online after their television finales has given an update to fans after speculation that the agreement had fallen through.

For fans of the two soaps awaiting details on exactly what the deal means for them, the future of their beloved soaps and which stars will stay with the serials’ the long agonising wait isn’t quite over yet. There are still so many unknowns about the deal which is why its hardly surprising some have already begun speculating it’s fallen through. However, Prospect Park – the company taking on All My Children and One Life to Live – have issued a new statement giving fans a brief update.

“The love and support for All My Children and One Life to Live is truly amazing. Since we announced our intention to work with the shows, the fan outreach we’ve experienced over the past few weeks further validates our decision to work to keep them going for years to come,” Prospect Park said in the release. “However we also respect the organizations and processes that are in place so that all can apply their craft within the infrastructure that the entertainment industry has set, specifically in this case with the appropriate guilds and unions. We are in the process of working out the essential terms of our proposed collective bargaining agreements with the appropriate guilds and unions, which we must do prior to firming up deals with above-and below-the-line talent.”

One of the earliest details to be revealed was that All My Children would re-launch online the following Monday from its television finale. That now seems unlikely with the soap possibly going on hiatus while talks with various unions and the actors themselves go ahead. AMC stars have already stated that they haven’t been approached about remaining and if the majority of them are to stay on that needs to start happening soon otherwise they will seek work elsewhere.

The next few weeks and months will be painfully slow for fans awaiting further news over the deal which will keep their favourite soaps alive for that little bit longer.
