Prospect Park offer All My Children cast contracts
{jcomments on}Prospect Park has approached some of the cast of All My Children with initial contract offers.
Prospect Park are set to takeover production of the daytime soap when it ends its television run in September when – at a now unspecified date – it will re-launch online as an internet based soap. The original idea was for AMC to re-launch on the internet the following Monday from its television finale but that now seems extremely unlikely to happen due to complications. However, there is some good news for fans of All My Children because the cast are now being approached with offers to stay on.
“Tuesday night, Prospect Park presented their first proposal on this. I’m very excited about it. These folks are innovators and I think they are very smart.” – Walt Willey speaking to Soap Opera Digest
It has also been reported by Deadline’s Nellie Andreeeva that cast member Susan Lucci, who plays diva Erica Kane, has been offered “basically the same salary” she currently has with ABC. There’s been plenty of rumours surrounding Lucci’s future with All My Children recently with some reports claiming she’ll stay on in “some capacity” while others stating the actress is set to join prime-time drama Desperate Housewives.
Fans will be awaiting the news about which cast members will be staying and which will be leaving although its already known that actor Jacob Young won’t be part of the re-launch cast as he’ll be returning to CBS soap The Bold and the Beautiful to reprise his role of Rick Forrester. Also leaving will be Debbie Morgan to join fellow CBS soap The Young and the Restless.
When One Life to Live ends in September it too will re-launch online and Prospect Park also have a deal in place to give General Hospital the same treatment should ABC cancel it too which does look quite possible.
