Jonathan Jackson leaving General Hospital
Daytime Emmy winner Jonathan Jackson is quitting General Hospital once more.
According to TV Guide Magazine the actor is “exhausted…from months of harrowing storylines” and has decided to quit the ABC daytime soap. However, reportedly the actor asked producers to reduce his work load, which didn’t happen, before deciding to quit. The actor plays Luke Spencer on the medical soap and also asked for his characters popular pairing with Elisabeth (Rebecca Herbst) to be revived. The actor will make his final appearance as Luke sometime in the New Year. As yet its unclear whether the role will be recast again. Jackson originally played the role between 1993 and 1999 reprising it two years ago in 2009. In the ten year gap between his two stints the role was recast with Jacob Young and then Greg Vaughn.
