Kym Marsh defends Anthony Cotton
Kym Marsh has used her regular column in Now magazine to defend her Coronation Street co-star Anthony Cotton (pictured, right).
Last week former Cold Feet actor John Thomson, who played Jesse Chadwick in the Granada soap between 2008 and 2010, criticised Anthony Cotton. The actor took to Twitter to brand Cotton a “nasty piece of work” over his behaviour on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here. Thomson also claimed that Cotton was “trouble with a capital T” to work with on Coronation Street.
It was only a matter of time before someone at Corrie defended Cotton. Kym Marsh, who plays Michelle Connor, has done just that. Writing in her Now magazine column the singer and actress wrote ‘I was surprised that ex-Corrie star and actor John Thomson felt the need to say on Twitter that Antony was a ‘nasty piece of work’. Not only is it unprofessional, it’s also untrue – Antony hasn’t got a nasty bone in his body!’
While some at ITV/Corrie are under the impression that Cotton, and his Corrie character of Sean Tully, are popular with viewers a quick visit to any television related internet forum will quickly prove otherwise.
