The Sun spoils EastEnders surprise returnee
Tabloid trash The Sun have revealed who is to make a cameo return at the end of tonight’s 40-minute EastEnders, which contains the funeral of legendary Walford resident Pat Evans.
EastEnders press had last night teased that there would be a special sequence AFTER the closing credits of tonight’s episode.
Fans went into over drive pondering what could possibly be the extra footage with igneous suggestions such as a ‘heavenly Queen Vic with Angie Watts and Pat laughing at the bar’, ‘Kathy and Pat having a ghostly catfight over the grave’ and a more sensible suggestion of Peggy Mitchell laying flowers in respect to her nemesis-turned-friend.
The latter, The Sun has revealed, isn’t far from the truth. The moment would have, if the press had played along, been a ‘television gasp moment’ for many. And hopefully for those who have yet to discover who it is it will remain so.
Obviously we don’t want to spoil the surprise factor for those who want to ‘see it happen’ on BBC One, however if you do want to know who returns tonight then you can find out by clicking here.
Pam St Clement who played Pat quit the soap after 26-years, with her final episode airing on New Years Day 2012 as the character died from Cancer.
“I’d love for it to be a double bluff,” says critic Justin Mason, “but sadly I think the wow moment has been blown by our dear tabloid who of course has a long history with EastEnders, they slagged it off for its gay characters with the headline ‘EastBenders’ and also pushed ‘Enders actor David Scarboro to his early grave. So some things never change with the gutter rag.”
It seems The Sun once again prove its not just tits on page three at the newspaper.
