Which American daytime soaps would you like to see released on DVD?

With episodes of As The World Turns and Guiding Light now available on DVD we’re asking our readers which other American daytime soaps – current or old – they would like to see released on DVD next.

It could be argued some companies have been slow to take advantage of the DVD market and release classic episodes of current and old soaps. In the UK episodes of old soaps such as Emergency Ward 10 and Crossroads have been successfully released on DVD – the releases of Motel based soap Crossroads ran to 20 regular volumes, 4 best-off volumes and two box-sets. Classic episodes of Emmerdale Farm and Coronation Street continue to be released on DVD proving there is a market for older episodes.

In America a box-set comprising episodes of Guiding Light and another with episodes of As The World Turns have been released on DVD by Soap Classics. The company plans to release other soaps on DVD such as Another World and The Edge of Night. However, such soaps are just the tip of iceberg considering how many other daytime serials have aired in America over the years. To name but a few; Passions, Ryan’s Hope, The City, Port Charles, The Secret Storm and The Doctors.
