Anna Friel to star in new ITV drama

Actress Anna Friel is to star in a new three part drama for ITV 1 next year.

ITV has commissioned a new three part drama ‘What To Do When Someone Dies‘ which will be filmed in the Spring of 2011 and is likely to air in the Autumn of that year. The thriller novel adaptation focuses on Ellie Manning who searches for answers after her husband dies in a car accident with a mystery woman beside him. The role of Ellie Manning will be played by former Pushing Daises actress Anna Friel.

Director of Drama Commissioning, Laura Mackie said “What to do When Someone Dies is an engrossing emotional thriller which explores grief, spiralling obsession, conspiracy and murder. It has been brilliantly adapted from Nicci French’s novel by acclaimed theatre writer Charlotte Jones and I’m delighted we have Anna Friel onboard to play the leading role of Ellie Manning.”

What To Do When Someone Dies will be directed by Tim Fywell and produced by Nigel Marchant.
