Former Hollyoaks star joins Emmerdale

Emmerdale bosses have cast Katherine Dow Blyton in a new regular role.

Dow Blyton will be a familiar face to soap fans already having played the role of Sally Hunter in Hollyoaks between 2001 and 2005.

In the dales the actress will portray Harriet Finch, a feisty newcomer who clashes with Ashley Thomas (John Middleton) after applying to become the vicar at St. Mary’s church.

Harriet – who appears for the first time next month – is also a relative of Edna Birch (Shirley Stelfox).

Among Dow Blyton’s non-soap credits are The Syndicate and This Is England.
