Sky 1 HD announces ‘Cats’ documentary

Sky 1 HD is to put the greatest of all animal families under scrutiny in Cats.

The broadcaster has enlisted the services of biologist Patrick Aryee for a two-part documentary that will chart the cat families’ astonishing rise to power over the last 11 million years.

From mighty lions and tigers to agile tree dwelling ocelots, Patrick will recount the story of the cat’s global migration as well as coming face to face with some of the planet’s most beautiful felines.

Each instalment will utilise superb wildlife photography, studio shoots, field demos and CGI to show how different members of the cat family have evolved and adapted to survive in some of the planet’s wildest landscapes.

The project will be delivered by Offspring Films Ltd for transmission in 2015.
