Fifth celebrity exits Strictly Come Dancing

Scott Mills, Strictly

Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills has become the fifth celebrity to leave Strictly Come Dancing.

Scott and his partner Joanne Clifton found themselves in the dance off alongside TV presenter Alison Hammond and Aljaz Scorjanec in tonight’s results programme.

In a bid to impress the judges and secure their place in the competition, each couple performed their routine from Saturday again with Scott and Joanne doing a Foxtrot to The Addams Family Theme and Alison and Aljaz performing an American Smooth to Wuthering Heights by Kate Bush.

After both couples had danced for survival the judges delivered their verdicts:

Craig Revel Horwood said: “I would like to save the couple that threw the kitchen sink at the routine – extra turns and all sorts of wafting. That is Alison and Aljaz.”

Darcey Bussell said: “The couple I would like to save is also because of its added flourishes in tonight’s performance. That is Alison and Aljaz.”

Agreeing with Craig and Darcey, Bruno Tonioli said:  “I have to thank you both because you both turned up the fun factor on full time. You were both very funny but I have to go for the white tornado – Alison.”

With three votes Alison and Aljaz will return to the Strictly ballroom next weekend, however head judge Len Goodman revealed that he would have voted differently to his fellow judges.

Len explained “Had it been left to me, I thought they were both so much fun. They were both dancing the foxtrot so I went for the section which was the foxtrot and in that case, it would have been Scott that I would have saved.”

“It’s something that I never thought I would do and I’m so glad that I said yes to it because it’s been the most fun I’ve ever had!” – Scott

The concluding part of Strictly’s Halloween weekend also featured a performance from Annie Lennox singing ‘I Put a Spell on You’ and a spectacular routine from the show’s professional dancers.

Strictly Come Dancing returns next Saturday, 8th November at 18:30, with the results show on Sunday 9th November at 19:45 on BBC One and BBC One HD.
