Jamie Lee Curtis wants Downton Abbey role

Downton AbbeyScream Queen Jamie Lee Curtis has revealed she would love to appear on Julian Fellowes’ period drama Downton Abbey.
The actress is probably best known for her role of Laurie Strode in the Halloween series of films – a role which won her the “Scream Queen” nick-name. Jamie Lee Curtis is the latest American to reveal that they are a huge fan of ITV/PBS period drama Downton Abbey which stars Hugh Bonneville and Dame Maggie Smith. Like so many other fans of Downton Abbey the actress would love to bag a guest role on the drama.
‘I’m now obsessed with doing guest spots on every number one show in America. I am obsessed with Downton Abbey, I’m totally manically obsessed. It’s fantastic.  I figured out I can’t really be on the show because I’m American and very contemporary, so I figured out I’m going to be on the show in photograph only. I’m going to be on a mantel with a storyline.’ – Jamie Lee Curtis speaking to Jay Leno on the Tonight Show.
It was recently revealed that American actress Shirley MacLaine would be joining the cast of Downton Abbey for its forthcoming third season. The actress will play the American mother of Cora Crawley (Elizabeth McGovern). Dynasty actress Joan Collins has also been tipped for a role in the series though as yet there’s been nothing official regarding such a guest appearance.
Last week it was revealed that X Files actress Gillian Anderson has turned down the role of Cora Crawley.
