Thursday Ratings Round-Up: Kidnap and Ransom beaten by Come Fly With Me
ITV’s new thriller drama Kidnap and Ransom, starring Trevor Eve and Helen Baxendale, launched with over 5 million viewers but was narrowly beaten by BBC One’s mockumentary series Come Fly With Me.
At 7pm on BBC One magazine series The One Show bounced back from Wednesday’s ratings lull pulling in 5.1 million viewers. At 7.30 EastEnders had an impressive 9.7 million viewers. The BBC Three repeat at 10pm added a further 950,000 viewers to the episode giving a combined audience of 10.6 million viewers. Emmerdale on ITV1 at 7pm had another strong rating with 8.6 million viewers as the fire took hold in the Yorkshire village. At 6.30pm on Channel Four teen soap Hollyoaks had 1.2 million viewers.
At 8pm BBC One’s new documentary series Human Planet launched with a respectable 5.6 million viewers. The series, narrated by John Hurt, charts our own species survival across the various environments around the world. At 8pm on ITV1 the second visit to Emmerdale had 9 million viewers followed by 9.6 million viewers for the nightly visit to Coronation Street. At 9pm the latest episode of BBC One’s mockumentary series Come Fly With Me had nearly 6 million viewers as the series continues to attract strong ratings. According to overnight figures 5.9 million viewers tuned in with 4.1 million viewers remaining for Not Going Out at 9.30pm. ITV’s new thriller drama Kidnap and Random launched at 9pn with 5.6 million viewers. The three-part drama stars Trevor Eve and Helen Baxendale and is produced by Eve’s own production company. At 9pm on Channel Four Hugh’s Big Fish Fight had 2.1 million viewers followed by Shameless with 2.5 million viewers. And on Five the latest episode of Neighbours, at 5.30pm, had 1.1 million viewer.
