Ratings rise for The Voice and Britain's Got Talent

Jessie JCompeting ‘talent contests’ The Voice and Britain’s Got Talent both saw a rise in ratings on Saturday evening.

The two show’s launched last week with much fan fare and press talk about a ratings battle between the two. While Britain’s Got Talent launched with more viewers overall last week during the period it clashed with The Voice it was the BBC One show which had more viewers. Last night saw both shows increase their audiences from last week’s impressive debut.

The Voice rose to an average audience of 9 million viewers with a peak audience of 10 million viewers.  Britain’s Got Talent meanwhile drew an average audience of 10.2 million viewers with a peak audience of 11 million viewers. Once again though during the period both show’s clashed it was the BBC One show which was victorious with 9.8 million viewers compared with 7 million for the ITV show.

Bosses of both channels though will be happy with the performance of their respective shows last night.
