Sky Living returns to Steps with a second series

It will be tears, tantrums and far too much fake tan Sky Living say. But no its not Daybreak, its Steps: On The Road Again as the channel follows the 1990s cheesy band on their big revival tour.

It will be tears, tantrums and far too much fake tan Sky Living say. But no its not Daybreak, its Steps: On The Road Again as the channel follows the 1990s cheesy band on their big revival tour.

Last year the Sky Living audience were transfixed, especially those in Essex, by a feud so deep it had simmered for 10 years and finally boiled over the moment Steps reunited for one more shot at chart stardom.

The channel which gave us Most Haunted is opening pop ghosts once more as they bring back Claire, Faye, H, Lee and Lisa to Sky Living in the spring. Produced by ITV Studios for Sky Living the documentary will follow the brightly coloured group exclusively as they rehearse, recriminate and rub salt in old wounds in the run up to their sell out 22 date UK tour. Their lives have moved on in the 11 years since the acrimonious split and we get an insight into their domestic lives too.

Jane Johnson, Director of Sky Living said: “We were all hooked on Steps Reunion as we watched the band talk candidly about one of the biggest pop fall-outs in recent history. So we’re thrilled to be giving our customers the opportunity to follow them on the next leg of their journey – their huge come-back tour. The twists and turns as they balance intense rehearsals with their busy family lives promise to be equally compelling. The most exciting pop comeback of the decade will be played out this April on Sky Living!”

In the last series, Sky Living followed the fractious meetings and tension inside the recording studio, as the essential 90s pop group came together for the first time in a 10 years to re-release their greatest hits album. The explosive series launch was the highest rated unscripted series on Living in 2011 with 1.3m viewers tuning in each week. Their album went gold, as the greatest hits sold an astounding 100,000 in just four weeks.

The series will air from April 23rd at 9pm on Sky Living
