Exodus from Hollyoaks continues

Another week, another actor decides to quit struggling Channel Four soap Hollyoaks. Actor Stephen Uppal, who plays bisexual Ravi Roy in the series, has announced to fans he is leaving the series.

Fans of Hollyoaks can be forgiven for wondering if they’ll be any characters left in the soap soon as news of another departure comes. In the past few months it seems as though the majority of the cast have either been axed by new producer Paul Marquess or have quit the series of their own accord. The latest departure to be announced will be that of actor Stephen Uppal, who plays bisexual Ravi Roy, who took to Twitter to announce his exit from Hollyoaks.

“Only 6 more episodes left to shoot – wow the time has flown by! Sorry guys, yes I decided to leave a while back. I’ve had a good time but always wanted to leave after a few years. Bye bye Ravi Roy!” – Stephen Uppal on Twitter

The news comes just a week after it was announced four other characters were to bow out of Hollyoaks; Dom Riley (John Pickard), Malachi (Glenn Wallace), Amy Barnes (Ashley Slanina Davies) and Elliot (Garnon Davies) were all being written out. New producer Paul Marquess is hoping his new additions to the cast, which include Kim Tidy and Alex Fletcher, will turn around its fortunes. The past year has seen the soap attract some of its lowest ratings prompting speculation in the tabloids that Channel Four were preparing to axe the serial.
