Kieron Richardson ‘relieved’ at coming out

Kieron RichardsonHollyoaks actor Kieron Richardson has said he is relived to have come out as gay. The actor announced he was gay during an interview on This Morning when he was discussing a forthcoming plot for his character, Ste, in the Channel Four soap.

 

 

Kieron RichardsonHollyoaks actor Kieron Richardson has said he is relived to have come out as gay. Richardson revealed to This Morning hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby he was gay while discussing a forthcoming plot in Hollyoaks featuring his character of Ste.

 

“Luckily, lots of people have come forward to say what I did gave them the courage to come out to their parents. It’s not really a big deal but some people see it as a taboo subject still. It’s nice to be quite young and be a role model to people going through it and hopefully make their lives a bit happier.” – Kieron Richardson speaking at the Inside Soap Awards.

 

The plot is set to see Ste enter into a gay relationship, which will involve domestic abuse, with a fellow Hollyoaks character, Brendan. The actor has also revealed that since coming out he has received support from fans and thousands of emails.
