BBC Considers more Perrin

 

BBCBBC One is reportedly close to commissioning a second series of Reggie Perrin, a remake of the classic 1970s sitcom which starred Leonard Rossiter. 

BBCBBC One is reportedly close to commissioning a second series of Reggie Perrin. The sitcom was a remake of the classic 1970s series which starred Leonard Rossiter who goes through a mid-life crisis. The remake starred Fay Ripley and Martin Clunes and aired on BBC One earlier this year. Actor Martin Clunes told tabloid newspaper The Mirror that he was due to film more episodes Reggie Perrin next year.

 

Broadcast is reporting that the BBC ordered further scripts of the series while the remake was airring with Lucy Lumsden behind the move for more episodes. After Lumsden departure her successfor, Cheryl Taylor, is belived to have continued negotiations for the series return. Although the remake met with mixed reviews it rated well pulling in an average audience of 4.5 million viewers compared to 3.9 million for the slot average. If a second series was commissioned it would likely air next autumn.
