Dead triumphs over Murder again

BBCBBC One’s Waking the Dead once again beat ITV1’s Blue Murder last night in the third clash of the murder detective dramas. Also includes ratings for Emmerdale, EastEnders and Coronation Street.

ITV1 might have had the better of BBC One on Sunday evening with BBCreturning drama Doc Martin beating Waking the Dead but last night it was quite the reverse. Once again Waking the Dead clashed with Blue Murder and for the second week in a row the BBC cold-case drama won the battle. The concluding part of Sunday’s episode was seen by 6.5 million viewers – up slightly on the 6.4 million who tuned in on Sunday. Meanwhile Caroline Quentin drama Blue Murder was watched by 5.1 million viewers. This is up by over half a million viewers for the previous Monday’s episode when just 4.5 million viewers tuned in.

BBCSoap wise and Emmerdale was seen by 6.7 million viewers while Coronation Street pulled in 9.5 million viewers and 9.6 million viewers for its two outings. BBC One’s EastEnders wasn’t far behind though with 9.2 million viewers. The 10pm repeat of EastEnders on BBC Three was seen by nearly 600,000 viewers.
