Dermot O’Leary enjoys a Big Night Out

Last night the London Irish Centre (LIC) held its annual fundraising black-tie ball known as the ‘Big Night Out’, with tickets sold out months ago. Well known personality and patron of the LIC charity, Dermot O’Leary was the guest of honour at the event in Camden and talked warmly about his Irish roots and how pleased he is to be getting behind the work of the LIC.

The annual event is a fixture in the London Irish calendar, raising much-needed funds for the LIC’s work with vulnerable Irish in London. An emotive appeal video featuring powerful testimonies from clients who have benefited from the LIC was shown on the night to the gathered audience.

Dermot who was announced as patron to the LIC in December said of the event: “The Big Night Out was a fantastic success and really fun. As I said previously It’s a big honour for me to be a patron of the LIC. I’m very proud of my Irish heritage, my parents were part of the post war generation of immigrants who came to London to find a new life, so the London Irish community is one that is very close to my heart.”
