Digitally Restored The Professionals MKIV to be released on Blu-ray
One of the most successful action thriller series ever made, crime-busting legends Bodie and Doyle have never looked as good as they do in this brand new, digitally restored, High Definition release of The Professionals: MkIV (15).
The five-disc set featuring 18 episodes will be available to own from 28th March 2016 on Blu-ray, RRP £49.99, from Network Distributing.
Starring Lewis Collins and Martin Shaw as hard-hitting special agent duo Bodie and Doyle, and with Upstairs Downstairs’ Gordon Jackson as their single-minded boss George Cowley, the fictional exploits of law enforcement department CI5 were a massive ratings success throughout the series’ initial transmission in the 1970s and ’80s, and are still repeated around the world nearly four decades later.
Special features include brand-new, High Definition restorations of all 18 episodes in series four and five from the camera-original negatives, new 5.1 tracks from original sound elements plus remastered original as-broadcast mono tracks and remastered music-only tracks featuring Laurie Johnson’s original scores.
The release also contains HD photo galleries featuring hundreds of rare and previously unseen images from the London Weekend Television (ITV London) production as well as an exclusive book of programme notes authored by TV historian Andrew Pixley, which documents the complete production history for the 18 episodes in series four and five.
All episodes are presented in their original production order along with extra items such as PDF material featuring scripts and memorabilia. The set also contains English HOH subtitles.
