ITV announce The Voice UK 2017 audition dates

The Voice UK

The Voice UK 2017 is switching from BBC One to ITV next year and those keen to get on the singing contest can now make a date in their diary as the shows producers have announced the audition locations and dates. ITV have also revealed the top prize for the 2017 series.

Next year’s winner will scoop a life changing record contract with music giants Polydor Records, home to global music stars Take That and Ellie Goulding, as well as the UK’s biggest breakthrough artists, including The 1975 and Years & Years.

The nationwide search to find a unique singing talent is now underway, with producers’ auditions visiting six cities across the UK this Summer. Undiscovered singers who want their voice to be heard are now invited to apply to audition through www.itv.com/thevoiceuk. All musical styles are welcome to apply, either as soloists or duos.

The audition tour will take in the venues listed below, with successful singers going one step further towards auditioning for the coaches during the blind auditions, which will be recorded later in the year. Prior to producers auditions, The Voice UK 2017 will continue to visit open mic nights around the country, with further dates due to be announced on the website.

Former Liberty X singer Kevin Simm was crowned the winner of The Voice UK 2016. The final series to air on BBC One saw Simm woo all four coaches by belting out Sia’s smash hit ‘Chandelier’ and initially chose new recruit Paloma Faith as his coach before he was stolen by Ricky Wilson during the Battle Rounds.

“I can’t believe it! I’m so grateful. I couldn’t have dreamed this would happen.” – Kevin Simm speaking after winning The Voice UK

Other contestants to make it to the final included Lydia Lucy, coached by will.i.am, and Cody Frost, coached by Boy George, with the runner up for the 2016 series being Jolan, also a member of Team Ricky who added that he has “something in place” for Jolan.
