ITV to offer Adrian Chiles Chat-Show
ITV are set to offer Adrian Chiles, currently co-presenter of Daybreak, a new chat-show.
ITV are set to hand Adrian Chiles a new chat-show according to The Sun. Chiles currently co-presents Daybreak with Christine Bleakley and also fronts ITV’s football coverage. As part of his deal with ITV though Chiles was also offered other projects to work on and it seems ITV have now come up with one – a chat-show. The Sun reports that ITV are to pilot That Sunday Night Show next month and it’ll be a mixture of celebrity chat and a look at current affairs.
“It will be built around Adrian’s personality, so it will have humour and be thought-provoking. We see him as a successor to Clive James, they share the same wry approach to life.” – A ‘source’ quoted in The Sun
Christine Bleakley, Chiles co-presenter on Daybreak, defended the programmes performance yesterday saying its poor ratings were ‘teething problems’. Former TVAM host Anne Diamond also defended the programme on The Wright Stuff saying the two presenters were not too blame for Daybreak’s troubles and that all breakfast programmes take a while to take off. This week has actually seen a rise in ratings for Daybreak helped no doubt by the clocks being turned back at the weekend.
