Day two of disruption to BBC News output

It’s the second day of action from National Union of Journalists at the BBC as the disruption remains minimal.

Unless you are an avid viewer of BBC News programming at the weekend then you probably won’t notice anything different. The day began with Breakfast, airing on BBC One and the BBC News Channel, hosted by regular weekend presenter Charlie Stayt.

His co-host Anne Davies was drafted in from BBC Midlands Today to host the four hour morning breakfast show. Anne Davies rose to fame for first hosting GMTV in 1993 with Eamonn Holmes and did so up until early 2000 before moving to local BBC news programmes.

National BBC News programmes will be going ahead as usual, although there will be no regional opt-outs today. BBC News on BBC One at the weekends are always shorter, with the longest lasting 20 minutes. Yesterday former GMTV presenter Emma Crosby presented the BBC News At One, with Chris Rogers presenting the BBC News at Six and Ten. Chris is the main breakfast news reader on LBC radio.

Most BBC Radio programmes are running as usual today, with some changes, but not on the scale of yesterday. The strike will end tonight at 23:59.
