Model Daisy Lowe to take part in Strictly Come Dancing 2016

Model Daisy Lowe is the eighth celebrity announced for the 2016 series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Daisy’s participation was announced today (17 August) via the official BBC Strictly Twitter and Facebook feeds.

“I am used to being on the catwalk and campaigns of major fashion brands with lots of eyes on me but this is completely different from anything I have ever done before! My family and friends and I adore Strictly, so when the chance came up to take part – I jumped at it! I am itching to get started and am so looking forward to learning a new skill.” – Daisy Lowe

Spotted at the age of 15, Daisy is in demand as a high end fashion model and recently became a British Fashion Council Ambassador for London Fashion Weekend.

Since the start of her career, she has starred in major fashion campaigns for some of the biggest labels around and continues to appear in commercial advertising campaigns and at fashion shows across the globe. Non modelling projects include acting in feature and independent films, appearing in music videos and she is also an author of a sweet treat cookery book.

Daisy joins Ed Balls, Will Young, Laura Whitmore, Ore Oduba, Melvin Odoom, Louise Redknapp and Danny Mac in the line-up. More celebrities will be announced for the new series in due course.
