Ozzy Osbourne ‘disgusted’ over use of music by hate church

Rock star Ozzy Osbourne has said he is ‘disgusted’ by the use of his music in a protest by the Westboro Baptist Church.

 

Rock star Ozzy Osbourne has said he is ‘disgusted’ by the use of his music in a protest by the Westboro Baptist Church. The controversial, outspoken and openly homophobic Church used the 1980 hit Crazy Train by Osbourne during a protest outside the US Supreme Court in Washington. The ‘Church’ have become notorious in America for picketing the funerals of serving soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Church, which is run by the Phelps family, was featured in a BBC Two documentary in the UK fronted by Louis Theroux. The family have been described as the ‘most hated in the USA’ for their outspoken attacks on homosexuality and other issues. Earlier this year Osbourne clashed with the ‘Church’ when they picketed the funeral of singer Ronnie James Dio, who took over from Osbourne in Black Sabbath – Osbourne blasted the protestors.
