Emmerdale signs Jake Roche

Who you may ask? Well the newcomer to television is the son of Coleen Nolan and Shane Richie.

Series Producer, Gavin Blyth says: “Jake is a great addition to the cast. Isaac will be a fun character who will offer some light relief for Hannah as her family face their darkest hour.”

Jake will arrive on screen as Isaac in August and has signed a contract with Emmerdale for the next few months.

The 17-year-old will play college boy Isaac, who starts dating timid teenager Hannah Barton. Isaac will be Hannah’s first real love and a welcome distraction as her family goes through hell with her junkie sister Holly.

However, as their relationship gets more serious and the situation with Holly spirals out of control, will Hannah’s parents be there for her if and when she needs them?

Jake said: “I am thrilled to be part of such a great team. Everyone has made me feel so welcome.

“After watching Emmerdale for years on TV, I still have to pinch myself on set as it’s all very surreal. My family have been very supportive as always and we all can’t wait to see my first episode.”

Mother Coleen is a regular on ITV’s topical debate show Loose Women while father Shane is due to return to BBC One’s teen soap EastEnders as Alfie Moon later this year.
