The Silence ends with over 4 million viewers

The fourth and final part of BBC One’s thriller series The Silence drew over 4 million viewers on Thursday evening while school drama Waterloo Road limped to the end of its fifth season with less than 4 million viewers.

 

The fourth and final part of BBC One’s thriller series The Silence drew over 4 million viewers on Thursday evening. The four part drama starred Gina McKee, Hugh Bonneville, Dervla Kirwan, Douglas Henshall and newcomer Genevieve Barr and opened on Monday evening with 4.7 million viewers on BBC One, increasing its ratings slightly on Tuesday. The fourth and final part of The Silence aired on BBC One at 9pm and was seen by 4.3 million viewers – down slightly on the opening episode. At 8pm on BBC One the fifth season of Waterloo Road limped to an end with just 3.7 million viewers – the final two episodes of the school drama were delayed because of the World Cup with the penultimate episode airing on Wednesday evening. The BBC has already commissioned a sixth and seventh season of Waterloo Road with new cast members including Amanda Burton, Wil Johnson and Tina O’Brien.

 

Elsewhere last night and Made In Britain: Tonight was seen by 2.9 million on ITV1 at 7.30 while Homes From Hell had a dismal 2.7 million at 9pm. The latest episode of Big Brother was seen by 2.1 million for Channel Four at 10pm while 2.4 million enjoyed Celebrity Come Dine With Me on the broadcaster at 8pm. Undercover Boss at 9pm was seen by a strong 3.2 million viewers.
