Actor Kevin G. Schmidt has told fans that he won’t be returning to The Young and the Restless as Noah Newman and just days following his announcement rumours are flying around that former General Hospital actor Drew Garrett is being lined up by producers of the CBS soap to take over in the role. Actor Kevin G. Schmidt took over the role of Noah in 2008 but left the soap earlier this year when he landed the lead role in the Cartoon Network’s first live-action series, Unnatural History – which was one of the channel’s highest rated programmes. The actor has also appeared in several movies; most recently Alvin and the Chipmunks.
However, on the actors Twitter page he revealed that producers on CBS soap The Young and the Restless have not asked him to return to reprise the role of Noah. Just days after the actor told fans the news on Twitter speculation and rumour linked Drew Garrett to the role. The actor recently bowed out of ABC medical series General Hospital in which he played the character of Michael Corinthos – although Garrett exited the series earlier this year when his role was re-cast by producers.
Producers on The Young and the Restless haven’t confirmed Schmidt’s departure or the rumour of Garrett replacing him.
