Sheree Murphy Takes Break From Hollyoaks

Tabloids report that “main star” of Hollyoaks Sheree Murphy has quit the show after becoming unhappy with having “very little to do” in the storylines. The actress however released a statement saying this isn’t true.

 

In a statement released to the media last night the former Emmerdale star says that she had originally decided not to renew her contract with producers of Hollyoaks Lime Pictures when she believed she was to relocate with her husband Harry Kewell to America for his career. However the footballer isn’t now joining any US teams.

 
She goes on to say that with her future seemingly in the UK she would like to at somepoint, should storylines allow, return to the Channel 4 teen-aimed soap in the future.

 

Hollyoaks line on the situation is that Sheree is to “take a break” from the series due to family commitments. The team are already plotting a exciting return for her character of Eva Strong.

 

Sheree Murphy was one of the new ‘big signings’ just over six months ago by incoming Hollyoaks Boss Paul Marquess who has been given the challenge to turn the fortunes of the serial, which has seen ratings dramatically decline over the past 12-months.

 

Last month former Hollyoaks actor Chris Fountain spoke on Twitter Webcam where he told fans that he’d watched an edition of the Channel 4 soap recently and it was in his opinion “terrible”. Fountain played the part of Justin Burton for six years.
