Law & Order and Hustle level pegging last night
BBC One drama Hustle was level pegging with ITV’s Law & Order last night in the ratings as the ITV crime/legal drama drops over half a million viewers from last week.
The battle of the dramas at 9pm between BBC One and ITV1 resulted in a stalemate last night as both Hustle and Law & Order: UK drew equal audiences. Last week the ITV crime/legal drama had managed to edge ahead of its BBC rival but this week both were on even ground with 5.1 million viewers. The figure for Law & Order UK was a drop of over half a million viewers from last week and ratings for last night’s episode dropped across the hour. Soap wise Emmerdale at 7pm had 8.3 million viewers while at 8pm EastEnders on BBC One had 10.4 million viewers. The double edition of Coronation Street also enjoyed strong ratings with 10.7 million and 10.3 million.
Since the adverse weather conditions at the start of the month the three big soaps have enjoyed stronger ratings thanks to several high-profile storylines such as the murder of Archie Mitchell in Enders and the murder of Mark Wylde in Emmerdale. Elsewhere in the ratings and the opening instalment of Channel Four’s latest American import, The Good Wife, had 1.4 million viewers. Before the new drama was Celebrity Big Brother which was seen by 2.6 million viewers. A new episode of E4 American important Glee had nearly 1 million viewers. Paul Merton in Europe on Five continued to rate well with 1.4 million viewers.
