Martin Jarvis to appear in EastEnders

Veteran actor Martin Jarvis is to appear in BBC One soap EastEnders.

Speaking of joining EastEnders, Martin Jarvis says:

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be a potential thorn between two roses, working with two actresses I greatly admire and have had the pleasure of working with before. I’m delighted to be reunited with Pam and Barbara and to have a part in EastEnders.”

It’s been announced that Martin Jarvis is to appear in BBC One soap EastEnders. The Veteran actor will join the soap as a potential new love interest for Peggy Mitchell and Pat Butcher – something that’ll re-open the old rivalry between the two matriarchs.

Jarvis will play the character of Harvey Freeman, a journalist who is reporting on the local elections for the Walford Gazette. Harvey will make his on-screen appearance in May just as Peggy and Pat decide to run against each other in the local elections.

Martin Jarvis will be familiar for his roles in Doctor Who, Murder She Wrote, Murder Most Horrid, A Touch of Frost, The Forsyth Saga, Stargate Atlantis and The Bill.

Diederick Santer, Executive Producer of EastEnders, says on the arrival of Martin Jarvis to Albert Square:

“I’m delighted that the wonderful and charming Martin Jarvis will be joining us in Walford, and I can’t wait to see his scenes with Barbara and Pam.”
