Jeremy Hunt will hand over communications to Leveson Inquiry

Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt has said he will hand over all emails and texts between him and a special advisor to the Leveson Inquiry.

Hunt came under pressure this week when it was revealed his special advisor, Adam Smith, had been emailing News Corporation over the process of the BSkyB takeover bid. Smith resigned on Wednesday morning following the cache of emails released at Leveson.

Labour has led calls for Hunt to resign and want an inquiry into his conduct. Prime Minister David Cameron has said the Culture Secretary has his ‘full support’ over the matter.

Rupert Murdoch and his son James gave evidence this week to the Leveson Inquiry looking into media practices and ethics in the UK.
