Two new characters for Emmerdale

There’ll be two new characters making their mark on the village of Emmerdale when they arrive on-screen in February.

Nathan (Lyndon Ogbourne) and Maisie Wylde (Alice Coulthard) cause an immediate stir when they arrive in style to their dad Mark’s (Maxwell Caulfield) extravagant birthday party, hot on the heels of their younger brother Will (Oscar Lloyd) who arrives a day earlier.

Lyndon, 25, has previously appeared in Spooks and Doctors. He says: “I am really excited to be playing the role of Nathan Wylde, he is a bit of a rogue and I’m looking forward to bringing out his darker side. He’s definitely not as nice as he seems.”

The aspirational, wealthy and dynamic Wylde family headed up by Natasha (Amanda Donohoe) and Mark (Maxwell Caulfied) have recently moved into Home Farm and have already made their mark on village life.

Alice, 27, who has previously appeared in The Bill and Holby City, says “I’m thrilled to be joining the cast of Emmerdale. Maisie is a really fun character and she’s not afraid to say and do the things that most people would never dare to. She’ll be giving her parents a really hard time.”

The pair will make their debuts in a one hour long special episode on Tuesday 17 February 2009.
