That L Thing
New CSI: Miami Characters: A new character, a medical examiner, will appear in the popular forensic detective series CSI: Miami.
Megalyn Echikunwoke, best known for her role of Isabelle Taylor in the Sci Fi series The 4400, will join the cast of CSI: Miami on a recurring basis. Echikunwoke, will play a medical examiner who makes a good impression on Lt. Horatio Cane [David Caruso] which will lead to future appearances in the popular spin-off. Echikunwoke is most likely a replacement for the recently departed Khandi Alexander who left the show after playing Dr Alex Woods since its launch in 2002 but she will probably return for guest appearances.
As well as appearing in the now axed 4400 series Echikunwoke also appeared in the first season of 24 and has had guest appearances in ER, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Veronica Mars and That 70’s Show. CSI Miami is shown in the UK on Five.
L Word Spin-Off Possible : A spin-off from popular Showtime drama The L Word is in the early stages of development.
American drama The L Word, about a group of lesbian friends, could get a spin-off. The final season of The L Word will air next year and now Showtime, the channel it is broadcast on in America, is considering a spin-off. Showtime’s president of Entertainment Robert Greenblatt revealed the possibility of a spin-off but confirmed that L Word creator Chaiken was working on the project. The spin-off will feature one of the characters from the show but the actress behind this character has not been informed about the possible spin-off.
If the spin-off does go ahead it will film after production has finished on the sixth and final season of The L Word. “We’re still forming it. I’m sure I have a million e-mails already from loyal viewers about it, but we’re still in the process of figuring it out.” Greenblatt said when asked for more details of the possible spin-off. In the UK The L Word is shown on Living.
