Jane Rossington at the Edinburgh Festival

Jill Chance CrossroadsJane Rossington, actress in such serials as Brookside, Emergency Ward 10, The Archers and Crossroads is to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Partido Productions, established by Mitchell and Sam Moreno, is debuting with a play at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Sam’s experience as a freelance journalist and illustrator has encompassed working in London’s West End and across the Atlantic with the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker (Sex in the City), Bjork and other big names as a freelance costume designer. He has also lectured in Art and Design at Canterbury College and has written and directed two short films and three plays.

Mitchell Moreno will be directing The Paper Piano. This will be Mitchell’s third time at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Previously Mitchell designed a Cambridge University production of The Lark, for the Fringe, which went on to be short-listed for the Guardian Student Drama of the Year Award.

Sam Moreno’s play, entitled The Paper Piano and starring Jane Rossington depicts the estranged relationship between an actress, Lenina Kane and her son Johnny. Despite years of separation between mother and son they are still haunted by dark fears, secret memories and shadows of the past. Jane is famous for her role as Jill in Crossroads and the voice of various characters in the long running radio 4 show The Archers, as well as numerous other TV appearances and theatre roles.

Sam Moreno’s new play is an explosive account of unspoken family feelings told through drama, humour and song. A very talented, up and coming playwright, Sam is definitely one to watch out for.

The Paper Piano is produced by Angus Gibb and Partido Productions

It is written by Sam Moreno, the play’s director is Mitchell Moreno.
