Rustie Lee to make guest appearance in EastEnders

Rustie Lee is to make a guest appearance in EastEnders.

The celebrity chef is to appear in the soap as Gus Smith’s aunt Opal for two episodes, which will reportedly screen on BBC One in April.

Mo George, who plays Gus, is leaving the soap after six years.

Known for her raucous laughter and larger-than-life personality, Rustie initially came to public attention with cooking segments on breakfast programme TV-am in the 1980s. A stint as a presenter on ITV gameshow Game for a Laugh followed.

Jamaican-born Rustie is also a singer and even once had a brief foray into the world of politics.
