The controversial X Factor act Katie Waissel, who was booted off the competition last night along with Wagner Carrilho, hopes to continue with her music career. In a double X Factor elimination last night two of the X Factors most controversial acts in its history were given the boot.
Wagner and Katie Waissel had been the subject of bad publicity from the press and Waissel especially had become something of a hate figure amongst the audience of the hit ITV series. Fans were originally outraged when Waissel was put through to the live shows instead of Gamu Nhengu and then the singer sparked further outraged when she was saved by the judges on several occasions as the expense of acts such as Treyc Cohen and Aiden Grimshaw.
However, speaking on Daybreak this morning Katie Waissel told the show she was hoping to continue with her career in music following her departure from The X Factor.
“I would like to write and I would love to continue to perform and to sing and really just take this opportunity and run with it and thank everyone for supporting me as well. I am looking forward to going on the road.” – Katie Waissel on Daybreak
Wagner Carrilho had also been the subject of bad publicity and also was a sore point for some X Factor hopefuls such as Matt Cardle who urged fans to stop voting for the singer. Wagner became the centre of an online campaign to keep him in The X Factor to undermine the competition but last he, along with Waissel, was finally sent home.
