Adrian Chiles has admitted that his ITV Breakfast show Daybreak has been a fiasco.

 

Adrian Chiles has admitted that his ITV Breakfast show Daybreak has been a fiasco. Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley both left the BBC to front the GMTV replacement but it was a disaster from day one. The critics were not kind to Daybreak when it launched in September and while the ratings started off good they quickly plunged to just half a million viewers – more recently they dropped again to under 300,000 viewers.

 

A piece last week about ITV football said, ‘It’s gone better than the Daybreak fiasco’. If you don’t like it, fine, but it is no longer a fiasco.” – Adrian Chiles

 

Daybreak still continues to be beaten by a fair margin by BBC One’s Breakfast. However, when Breakfast moves to Salford that may change as the BBC show may have trouble tempting high profile guests onto the show.
