Jaclyn SmithCheryl Ladd and Jaclyn Smith have revealed they haven’t been approached to appear in the ABC reboot of Charlie’s Angels. The two actresses starred in the original series of Charlie’s Angels that ran between 1977 and 1981. Jaclyn Smith was the only actress to appear in all five seasons while Cheryl Ladd joined the detective drama at the start of its second series as a replacement for Farrah Fawcett. The two actresses have revealed to Entertainment Weekly they haven’t been approached about the reboot.

“They have obviously made a mistake! I don’t know whether I’d be interested. It would depend on the role. Not sure I would want to repeat myself but it would depend on how they revisited the Angels concept. I think it is great. It could be a big hit if is well written and cast properly. It’s probably going to be fun to watch, either way.” – Jaclyn Smith quoted on Entertainment Weekly

“They haven’t called me yet, either. The chemistry between the girls has to be right. That was really what it was about for us and what made our show so successful. People really enjoyed the chemistry we had together. And let’s face it — we were hot.” – Cheryl Ladd quoted on Entertainment Weekly

The planned reboot of the detective drama will see the setting shift to Miami and will star Minka Kelly, Rachael Taylor and Annie Ilonzeh as the new angels. Entertainment Weekly are also reporting show-runners Al Gough and Miles Millar don’t have any plans, at the present time, to include the actresses in the pilot. If the pilot is successful ABC will likely pick it up for a full series starting in the Autumn. Of interest is the fact that Jaclyn Smith did have a small, un-credited, cameo role in the second Charlie’s Angel hollywood film.
