Tricia Helfer and James Callis cast in 17th Precinct

It’ll be something of a Battlestar Galactica reunion on Ron Moore’s new NBC drama 17th Precinct as James Callis joins confirmed cast member Jamie Bamber. 17th Precinct is a police procedural drama with a twist – a supernatural twist. In the world of 17th Precinct there’s magic – it’s a promising twist on the police procedural format. The drama is being developed by Ron Moore who “re-imaged” Battlestar Galactica for Syfy in 2003 turning it from a fondly remember 1970s series into a critically acclaimed, award winning and frakking good 21st century morality tale.

It seems as though 17th Precinct will be something of a Galactica reunion. Jamie Bamber is already confirmed as part of the cast and now its been revealed that fellow Brit James Callis will also star. Bamber will play a crime scene expert while Callis will play a homocide detective.

We hear the campaign for Mary McDonnell and Tricia Helfer to join the cast has already begun!
