Reports claim the second series of BBC One’s mockumentary Come Fly With Me could be delayed because of Matt Lucas’ busy schedule. The comedy spoofs docusoaps such as Airline and Airport which were hugely popular with audiences several years ago. Come Fly With Me launched on Christmas Day on BBC One with over 12 million viewers and across its run it continued to pull in impressive ratings. The BBC were quick to order a second series but it seems as though that could be delayed because of the busy work schedule of Matt Lucas according to The Sun.
“Matt says there isn’t time for him and David to write a new series at the moment. Everyone wants it to come back but it’s a matter of when they can get together. The Beeb is hoping for at least a one-off Christmas special but with Matt’s diary it looks tight.” – A “source” in The Sun
Come Fly With Me reunited comedy partners Matt Lucas and David Walliams who memorably worked together on Little Britain and its American spin-off Little Britain USA. It was narrated by actress Lindsay Duncan and across its run guest-stars such as Barbara Windsor, Geri Halliwell, David Schwimmer, Rupert Grint and Anna Friel appeared playing versions of ‘themselves’.
